Driggs Paddlebord FAQ

Do you also have kayaks?

Yes~! While we specialize in paddleboards, we do have some kayaks that we’re able to rent out. We have single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and a three person kayak that’s great for families.

Where are you located?

Our location in Driggs is at 90 North Main Street, which is right next to Teton Valley Meats and The Velvet Moose. We’re a mobile paddleboard rental operation (kind of like a food truck for paddleboards!), and we meet you at the river when it’s time for your float.

Ok. So where do we meet for our trip?

We meet you at the takeout where you’ll finish your trip and then we shuttle you up to the put-in (easy!). This way your car is right there when you finish and you can be off to your next Driggs adventure.

Which section of river should we book?

That’s totally up to you, but if it’s your first-time paddleboarding we’d probably recommend the 3.5 mile trip, and if you’re looking for as much time on the river as possible, spring for the 8-mile Teton River epic to get the best of all the different sections!

What if I don’t need the shuttle service or want to go paddling somewhere else?

We offer 24 hour rentals on all of our gear, and for $50/day we’ll bring you a board—free delivery in Teton Valley! 24 hour rentals include board, paddle, PFD, and the right type of fin for where you’ll be paddling (river vs lake).

What sort of boards do you have?

We have inflatable boards as well as hard boards.

Our inflatable boards are Imagine Surf Icon 11’ x 34”, which are super stable and convenient to transport. Our hard boards are Imagine Bula 11’6” x 33”—both great options for the Teton River and surrounding Teton lakes!

What are the weight limits?

  • Paddleboard: 280 lbs | Solo kayak: 220 lbs | Tandem Kayak: 330 lbs | Triple Kayak: 505 lbs. On the fence? Give us a call.

What’s the minimum age?

Minimum age to paddle your own board is 10 years old, but if you have a really athletic 8 or 9 year old just give us a call and we’ll talk about the options.

What if I have kids that are under 10 years old?

As long as you stay under the 280 lb weight limit, parents with young children can put the kids on the front of their board for only $10/kid.

Do you provide PFDs (life jackets)?

Yep! By Idaho law, all paddlers under 14 years old MUST wear a traditional PFD while paddling at all times. For paddlers over 14 years old, we have Coast Guard approved Type V inflatable belt pack life jackets that are much more comfortable and convenient for stand up paddling.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry—but there have been too many river users whose dogs create conflict with livestock and local wildlife.

Do you use any sort of special fins?

Since water levels can get low in August and September, we use specialized, 4”, flexible rubber fins that allow you to paddle in shallow sections and not get hung up on gravel bars. Awesome!

Do we have to pump up the boards ourselves?

Nope—you don’t have to lift a finger. We transport them, pump them, and outfit you for success. All you have to do is paddle and enjoy the view.

Do you offer guided trips of the Teton River?

Even though the word “tours “ is in our name, at this point we only offer paddleboard rentals and shuttles for our location in Driggs.

What if I have my own board? Do you offer a shuttle service?

Yep! For $15/person we offer a shuttle service to get you—and your board—up the river. Call for details and timing.

When do you close for the season?

We’re open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend—after that it starts snowing!
